54 years ago, Feb 19 1970, a bomb reportedly exploded in Clifford Harbaugh’s backyard in Dublin. Harbaugh had been coordinating a fundraising effort for the 12 Alameda County Sheriff’s deputies indicted on civil rights charges for brutality during the People’s Park movement

Harbaugh claimed an anonymous caller had told him, “Pigs can end up with an apple in their mouth. Little piglets can die too,” prior to the alleged bombing. The 12 deputies, who had opened fire on unarmed protesters the previous Spring, were eventually acquitted
